Bookstores

So I was travelling to Kraków, I had an urge to visit that exceptionally great bookstore I found last time, not that I could remember the name (it was in a language I don’t speak, but it was downtown, next to the highrise and just 2 streets from that nice coffee place, where we had coffee and got out of the rain in the nice atrium last time?) Google Maps was not helping, neither did me remembering the coffee shop was called something meaning “coffee*” in a language I don’t speak(ish), (so not western European). Long story short: the bookstore with the amazing selection, (though not pretty), turned out to be in Zagreb, not Kraków. Hence this page, so I can find the bookstores of Europe again, maybe you can find some too – sorted by city, as I remember to add them.
(*the coffee shop was called Quahwa btw.)

Disclaimer:
I am not some balanced reviewer trying to be nice – this is for my own enjoyment and to find stuff I like – I like stories, and to read the world (though not on some silly stressfull deadline), and read mostly what gets shelved as Fiction, Literature & Classics. I prefer the thin cheeky books to the doorstoppers, though I have read Anne Karenina & Don Quixote (skip the second vol. is my advice!). I also read (mainly Scottish) crime fiction and throw in the occasional graphic novel for variety. So if you’re looking for the best Sci-fi or epic historical family dramas, I am not your best guide.
